Cancun Photo Diary.

Woke up in a dream in Cancun. So many feelings after visiting this magical place. Although I’ve always heard many friends talking about Cancun as the best crazy party destination -which is true- I was expecting it to be only that, but I was definitely wrong.

It got me on a personal level, it felt like touching base with so many things I missed before. Living in New York can be overwhelming, with the weather against us all the time (either too hot o too cold, or too windy for that matter) and busiest schedule, one sometimes needs to escape and relax for a bit.

I stayed at the Azul Sensatori Hotel which totally made my trip. It was all inclusive with so many things to do.

We arrived and had breakfast in our balcony. Yes, that balcony was just for us!

Our room was insane. I’m going to be honest, I underestimated the value of a good tub. Seriously though, if you guys were like me, who thought tubs are for people with too much time in their hands and fancy preferences, please reconsider. I think I regained all the energy I needed thanks to this massive one.

Palms and beach were literally next to us.

And oh god we did so many things.

Maroma Beach: This beach offered so much I wanted to die because we had very little time in our hands. So we got to do what I wanted the most, riding camels (the sandals were the best decision ever). I got to hug camel and literally fell in love… they are the sweetest animals on earth, like little kids with so much personality. Best part: they like being petted in the head.

My boyfriend’s camel apparently loved that.

Ek Balam: One of the best things to see if you go. Alltournative took us to this Yucatec-Maya archeological ruin and told us all the stories behind it.  By the way, it is one of the few places that is still not crowded with tourists. amazing.

Ek Balam stands for Black Jaguar and the location holds so much history. I felt chills after climbing all the stairs to see the whole peninsula.

We also went to XCaret Park: an eco tourism theme park in the Riviera Maya.

It had so many things to do for nature and water lovers like me.  Crazy boat rides, swimming with sharks or stingrays, sea trekking and scuba diving, snorkel tours, a butterfly pavilion, you name it.

One of my favorites was navigating through their underground rivers.

Flamingos were the most magical colorful birds I’ve seen to date, felt like a fantasy.

Mayan cenotes and rock formations blew my mind.

A tiny wild boar and me wearing vintage shorts (similar pair here and here).  Top is sold out everywhere, but this one is cute too.

This was actually a coconut drink, we had like four.

The place had so many things aside from nature. You can also explore the little Mayan town within the park.

My heart melted.

I was wearing loose comfy clothes in all black (what else is new). Shoes are from Freda Salvador (only available in tan here) and shorts are old from Romwe but I love these too. Also, hair state: completely natural.

Infinite little plant pots at their greenhouse. Mom would love this.

We also drove to  Cenote Maya with Altournative where we had to rappel down to get to the water. I was a little scared but it was so worth it. You can also use the stairs if you’re on the safer side but I wanted to experience the adventure. duh.

The food in Mexico was a total highlight for me. This was a homemade dish we got after the cenote adventure. I mean, how not to stuff yourself in this goodness.

Late night walks in our hotel beach with my boy. I was wearing a Romwe romper.

We had a dinner at Latino at Azul Beach and it was all about the savory South American food which made me feel like home. If you go you have to visit.

More of our beautiful room.

And of course the classic Cancun beach in our hotel. I was wearing a bikini I actually got there.

One of my favorite things from this trip was the coconut water we were given all day. I think its one of my favorite refreshing beverages now.

More crazy drinks that resemble rainbows and that had all the tropical flavors possible. Mouthwatering doesn’t even cover it.

Our hotel had six different restaurants, from mexican food to italian to a gourmet one. The left is a dish for tasting we got at Le Chique and the right was Spoon, more like the best buffet ever. I freaking love buffets.

Hello Paradise.

I clearly tried all the drinks possible and brought all my shorts with me. I was wearing some DIY levis and a Lack of Color hat.

I paired to bikinis together. The swimsuit is from Asos and Sunset top from Issa de Mar. Worked like the perfect top and shorts for the beach.
