As you guys probably know, last weekend I had the amazing opportunity to work with Express and Teen Vogue to be a part of Teen Vogue Fashion U. As a fashion student, I was thrilled to take part in this event. Every year fashion industry students from all over the world get together in NYC to learn from the professionals. On Friday, I attended the Kickoff Party at the Express flagship store in Times Square, where Fashion U students met before the seminars began on Saturday. There was a beauty bar, music courtesy of DJ Chelsea Leyland, people shopping and having a great time. I got to meet so many lovely people, including some of my blog readers! For those of you wondering, I was wearing Express from head to toe (you can never go wrong in a denim shirt, jacket and distressed jeans).
I headed to Fashion U on Saturday morning, and got to visit the Condé Nast headquarters at the World Trade Center. There were so many talented leaders talking about how they got there, including tips for all the students about how to make it in the industry. It was really eye opening and their speeches were so interesting. Above you can see Kristen Joy Watts, the art and fashion lead for the Instagram team, talking about how important storytelling is nowadays. I also got to hear Jason Wagenheim, publisher of Teen Vogue, who was brilliant (and also hilarious). It was such an amazing experience 🙂
