We all have jeans in our closets. They’re such a universal piece that can be worn over and over again with absolutely everything. You probably have your own requisites when picking the perfect pair of jeans, so for this post I decided to share the elements I personally need to “check” when shopping for the right pair.

1. Stretch / comfort is key.

I am a big fan of vintage Levis’, but I definitely prefer stretchy thinner fabrics that give you that jegging feeling and hug you in the right places for every day errands. I literally have tried so many jeans until now and honestly most of them turn out too thick and stiff for me. When it comes to clothes to run all day, I’m very picky (you can ask anyone that knows me, I would live in sweatpants if I didn’t love fashion). They must be adaptable jeans that will look good during the day yet soft and comfy enough to keep them on when I get back home and just want to lay in the couch to watch movies.

2. The skinniest fit.

I like when jeans hug my ankles. The perfect ankle opening is crucial for an elongated effect. But the previous point is key; they have to be stretchy in order to pull them up smoothly. I particularly like super skinny ones with my creepers or any pair of chunky platforms; it makes me look much taller. It doesn’t matter if they’re too long because I love rolling up the hem.

3. Medium rise is now my favorite rise.

You can tuck any tee and still give your waist some definition unlike low-rise jeans that would give you a square body shape… basically like a corset for your lower torso. They’re a balance between comfort and style. It makes me feel stylish and still getting that ease that high-rise jeans don’t give me.

4. Fading in the front.

I find these great for casual looks and the effect is more flattering to my legs. They define and provide a more toned shape. Trust me, they make a total difference. I personally like the fading when we talk about classic blue denim.
