Weekend Getaway – Two Outfits

It’s been such a long time since I wanted to do a post sharing my top essentials for a weekend getaway or an escape to the beach during vacations. And to be honest I just resort to online shopping. Some may think living in NY makes it easy for travel shopping, but it’s actually a little bit hectic spending all day running up and down the city. My best bet is Nordstrom’s Vacation Destination. They have so much stuff on their site and I always find what I’m looking for. I decided to put two outfits together with my basic formula, because these pieces can be worn in so many different ways.

Hace siglos que queria hacer un post compartiendo cosas que considero esenciales para un viaje corto de fin de semana o una escapada a la playa en vacaciones. Siempre me preguntan donde compro lo que uso pero para ser sincera la mayoría de veces busco online. Pueden pensar que vivir en NY hace que sea mas fácil ir de shopping pero en realidad es un poco mas caótico por que involucra correr por toda la ciudad. Por eso muchas veces voy a Nordstrom, ya que tienen demasiadas marcas juntas que me encantan. Asi que finalmente aquí les dejo algunas de mis prendas favoritas para esos fines de vacaciones en los que voy a la playa o algún lugar calido.

Beach day:

1. For the day, a swimsuit is fundamental. It’s so good because you can also wear it as a top with a cute pair of pants or shorts. This one from Becca blew me away. I mean, crochet and burgundy together, nothing more to say. It also comes in black and white, though.
2. A pair of linen pants, which I’ve been obsessed with lately because they are so versatile for different situations. Not only good for a day at the beach but to actually travel to the beach comfortably.
3. Fedora hat. You know how much I love hats and this one by Brixton has the best shape I’ve found so far (I guess its because its unisex). I have it in black also!
4. Lace-up sandals that work during the day and night. Flat ones because comfort is key.
5.  Reversible tote. I’ve been traveling with it so much and its one of my current favorites because it fits everything and I can use it in black or cognac depending on my outfit. It also comes with a little bag inside that serves as a pocket or even a clutch. I seriously love this so much.

1. Para el dia, una ropa de baño me parece fundamental. Es bien practico por que puedes usarla como top con un par d pantalones o shorts. Esta de Becca me encanto por que el crochet y el guinda son mis favoritos. Aunque tambien hay en blanco y negro y queda bello.
2.  Unos pantalones como de lino. Estoy obsesionada con estos por que son lo MAS comodo que hay y versátiles para distintas situaciones. No solo para dia de playa si no hasta para viajar en ellos.
3.  Fedora: Ya saben que amo los sombreros y este de Brixton es el que uso la mayoria de veces por que tiene la mejor forma que he probado hasta el momento (creo que es por que es unisex). Seguro conocen el negro pero en marron tambien me encanta.
4.  Sandalias que se amarran que funcionan durante el dia y para salir en la noche a alguna comida casual. Para mi planas es mejor cuando se trata de zapatos de verano para la playa.
5.  Tote reversible: he estado viajando con esto y les juro que es literalmente la solucion a todo. Entran demasiadas cosas (incluyendo mi laptop) y la puedo usar en negro o cognac dependiendo del outfit.

Warm nights:

Another staple I always bring with me is a maxi dress in a pretty fabric. Crochet will always be my fav and this beige one from Eliza J is one of the prettiest I’ve had ever. I think it’s great to throw it on during the day at the beach or the perfect option to go have dinner on those summer warm nights. It’s crazy that I paired it with the same reversible bag and sandals and it’s a totally different look. That’s what happens when you have the right accessories when you travel.

Otra prenda que me parece esencial es un maxi vestido en una tela bonita. El crochet siempre va a ganar para mi asi que este beige de Eliza J me parecio ideal. Es super comodo para ir a la playa durante el dia o una gran opcion para ir a comer en esas noches de verano. Aqui use los mismos accesorios que en el look anterior!
