So here you have it, all the new bits I recently got here thrifting in Peru! These are all vintage pieces that I purchased throughout my entire stay and several trips to the market I go which is basically a hectic place where the good things are buried under piles of not so cute clothes.

As you can see, I’m all about flowers, stripes or bohemian prints at the moment.  Every single piece took me a while to decide whether or not to get. See, when I go thrifting I first look around the entire store (or market for this matter) just to get a glimpse of how long the shopping experience will take. Then I start looking at every section, always in order to make sure theres not a single corner I’m missing. In terms of selecting what I purchase, I pick up the piece I like and try to think of all the possible combinations I would make with it. Once I realize I will wear it in at least three ways and make up a couple of outfits in my mind I buy it. I always try to picture vintage items combined with classic staples or my favorite go-to pieces. For instance if I pick up a blouse I think about matching it with a leather biker or denim jacket, denim shorts, mini skirts and thigh high socks, skinny jeans or band tees underneath. If I feel the color palette, texture, print or shape works with some of the pieces I mentioned I decide to take it home 🙂

Aqui lo tienen, todas las prendas de segunda que he conseguido en Peru. Todas son vintage que he ido comprando a lo largo de mi pequeña estadia aca y muchos viajes a Grau (fronteras unidas) que basicamente es una especie de mercado con pilas de ropa no muy bonita donde tienes que buscar un buen rato para encontrar algo lindo. La mayoria de las prendas que consegui tienen prints floreados, rayados y son un poco bohemias.

 Cuando voy a hacer compras en tiendas o mercados vintage, primero me aseguro de mirar toda la tienda rapidamente como para ver si me voy a demorar mucho o no.. Luego comienzo por un lado y me paseo siempre en orden para asegurarme de que no me falte ni una sola esquina de la tienda. Aqui es cuando comienzo a seleccionar las prendas. Siempre que me gusta una prenda la cojo y me quedo pensando por lo menos en dos o tres outfits que haria con ella. Si logro imaginarme usandola al menos de dos maneras me la llevo. Siempre trato de pensar en combinar las prendas vintage con otras clasicas que me encantan. Por ejemplo si es una camisa/blusa me la imagino con casacas biker de cuero o de jean, shorts de jean, pantalones pegados, mini negra con medias a la rodilla, o polos de banda debajo. Si me parece que los colores, textura, forma o print de la prenda van bien con las cosas que mencione decido llevarmela a casa 🙂
